The Combat-Oriented Party Unveiled
Episode 3 concluded with a huge suspense moment and revealed the first table of characters who will branch out from the main group to embark on their separate journey, separate from the remaining groups.
The combat-focused team includes the determined fighter (brought to life by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura Bailey), Tyranny (Whitney), Wicander (the player), and the mysterious adventurer (the actor).
Why Split the Party?
Given an extensive roster, it was obvious from the start that maintaining everyone at one table would be impossible.
Hence, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Prelude, weaving together the individual narratives before splitting into three smaller tables: Fighters, Strategists, and Explorers.
The Nature of the Warrior Group
According to the DM, the warrior group is for participants who are drawn to a classically intense battle-oriented story mode where peaceful solutions are rare.
Upon first impression, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander might appear mismatched, but the actions of the latest installment demonstrate why these specific adventurers are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the group has a clear idea where to go next after a violent first encounter with the antagonists.
An old friend of the deceased character—whose death kicked off the narrative’s action—exploited the foes for his own means, entering the secret base, striking Thimble, and taking all the powerful objects to dispose of.
The antagonist then paid off his debts and escaped to a fortified location in the northern region, above the urban center, with Cyd Pridesire hot on his heels.
Character Drivers
Additionally, each character has a specific drive to depart the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as the companion and trusted friend, desires vengeance.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the northern area and warns that it is a dangerous location.
- The warrior and The cleric, having disobeyed his house’s orders to kill Teor and instead freed him, have no other options.
- But, their position as key figures in House Halovar could help the group reach places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Moreover, The fighter swore a unbreakable promise to The savior for his deliverance and will now follow him wherever.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are wanted by the authorities that control the city for a multiple motives, making lingering locally too risky:
- Thimble and Kattigan are recognized lawbreakers.
- The strong figure and The healer betrayed the influential house and the army of fiends they are partnered with.
- The fighter is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This results in them little choice but to head to the remote area in quest for the antagonist.
